2018 is almost in the books

I am very grateful for all of the clients, sellers, vendors and friends that have made 2018 such a great year!

This year has flown by! The lack of posts on this blog tells much of the story! I literally have not had time to contribute. This has been a BUSY year for Jet Acquisitions. In fact, early this year we were so overwhelmed with business, it reached the point where Amy, Stacie, and myself were barely keeping up. Over the summer, we hired Ashley Taylor, and she has quickly become an integral part of the team. We are going into 2019 with the tools and talent we need to take great care of our clients!

On top of the great additions to the JetAcq team, we have instituted a “slot” system to insure that we do not get overloaded and that we do not find ourselves too heavy in any given stage of the acquisition process. We can only handle four or five active acquisitions at one time and cannot have too many at one stage, such as aircraft search or closing. The slot system works great for scheduling, but we do feel like some prospective clients are bothered by the idea of having to wait. I would just encourage them that the way in which we handle our business and the attention we pay to detail is only possible if we have the man-hours available to get the job done. It takes a lot more time to do an acquisition than most people realize, especially with the amount of travel involved.

What we haven’t seen is the end of the year rush to get an airplane closed for tax purposes that I expected. We had anticipated and planned for it, but as of today we only have one more closing scheduled before the year’s end. Our current clients seem content to take the tax concession in 2019.

I am very grateful for all of the clients, sellers, vendors and friends that have made 2018 such a great year! By the end of the year, we will have almost doubled the volume of 2017, and we are going into 2019 with a considerable backlog of clients pre-booked for the first quarter.

A huge thank you to everyone who made 2018 great! I’m looking forward to 2019. It is going to be an awesome year for private aviation!
